     Leverette Picks SWIC
6'3 O'Fallon Sr. Guard Kenny Leverette decided that he wanted to attend South West Illinois Junior College next season.SWIC head coach Jay Harrington stated to us that his staff is very excited with the pick up and feels Kenny can play up to 3 positions very well.Leverette averaged 16 points per game and helped lead the Panthers to a 29-4 finish during his senior season.

James makes his decision!!!
6'1 Normandy combo guard, Anthony James decided that he would take his game to N.Iowa next season. The high flying, sharp-shooting James said to us that he felt a since of loyalty from the N. Iowa staff, who attended numerous Normandy games this season.On his official visit, he stated how he got a really great vibe from the school and the current  players , which made his decision easy. We wish him the best on his selection!!

  2008 Riverwar Highlights Historic Grand Opening
The brand new, state of the art, Chaifetz Arena located on the campus of St.Louis University ,will play host to the 2008 Mc Donalds Riverwar All-Star Games.. The event usually held in March, will be held on Saturday April 12th this year, to accomodate the historic grand opening of the multi-million dollar, 10,000 seat facility. The event is... Mc Coy saves the best for last!!!
Going into the 4th quarter of play against Rockbridge, Sr. Josh Mc Coy only had 1 point.Eight minutes later he had a team high 16. The 6'5 Mc Coy put the team on his back one more time and lead South to a 42-37 come back victory against a very tough Columbia Rockbridge.Mc Coy did just about everything one man could do down the stretch, including 15 points, 2 big steals, 5 clutch free-throws and two very acrobatic shots that sent the "Friedel Freaks" balistic.. The win punches South's ticket to the University of Missouri Rolla against Waynesville on Saturday!!!

      Illinois gets Griffey ..
The 6'8 stud from Lafayette gave an oral commitment to the University of Illinois Wednesday night. Griffey chose Illinois over a long list of schools including North Carolina, Mizzou and Kansas. Griffey is considered  the top area prospect in the class of 2009 and was a high priority for the Illini.. Congratulations to Tyler on his decision...
